These terms are a starting draft prepared by Grow My Business. CanSurvive should review them (and seek legal advice if needed) before registrations open.

About the challenge

Train Like a Dragon Boater ("the challenge") is run by CanSurvive Dragon Boat Club (registered charity CC27905) ("CanSurvive", "we", "us"). It runs from Sunday, 1 November to Monday, 30 November.

Entry

• Entry costs $50 per person, including GST.
• You must be 12 or older to take part. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian’s permission, and the parent or guardian accepts these terms on their behalf.
• Registrations close on Saturday, 14 November.
• Your entry is personal to you. Entry codes are single-use unless stated otherwise and have no cash value.

Refunds

Entry fees and donations are non-refundable, including if you are unable to complete the challenge. If CanSurvive cancels the challenge, we will contact you about a refund. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other New Zealand law.

Your health and safety

The challenge is a general community fitness activity, not an individual exercise prescription or medical programme. You take part at your own risk and are responsible for choosing exercises and levels that are safe for you. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath or any other concerning symptoms, and seek professional advice if you are unsure whether the challenge is suitable for you.

Logging activity and the leaderboard

Challenges are logged on trust. Please record only what you have completed. CanSurvive may adjust points, remove entries from the leaderboard or disqualify participants who log activity dishonestly or behave inappropriately.

Your chosen display name, team name and points appear on the public leaderboard. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing.

Prizes

Prize details and prize draw requirements will be published before registrations open. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. Winners will be contacted by email and may be named publicly with their permission.

Changes

We may update the challenge or these terms if needed. We will tell registered participants about any significant changes.
