Draft for CanSurvive to review

This privacy policy is a starting draft prepared by Grow My Business, based on the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. CanSurvive should review it before registrations open.

Who we are

This website is run by CanSurvive Dragon Boat Club (registered charity CC27905) for the Train Like a Dragon Boater challenge.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address, leaderboard display name and (optionally) mobile number
  • Your team, challenge level, the challenges you log and your points
  • Your age group and, for under-18s, confirmation of parent or guardian permission
  • Payment records (amount, date and status). Card details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored by us.
  • Basic technical information needed to keep the site secure, such as your login session

How we use it

  • To run the challenge: your account, daily challenge emails, progress tracking and the leaderboard
  • To process payments and send receipts
  • To contact you about the challenge, including prize draws
  • If you opt in, to send you CanSurvive news and updates

We do not sell your information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the challenge, including website hosting, our email delivery provider and our payment provider. They only use your information to provide their service to us.

Your display name, team and points are shown on the public leaderboard.

Keeping your information

We keep your information for as long as needed to run the challenge and future CanSurvive events, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
